New version of the GEneral Multilingual Environmental Thesaurus (GEMET) now includes Russian

During 2000/01 experts of the International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information in close cooperation with their colleagues from the European Environment Agency translated into Russian the 5400 environmental terms and definitions from the GEMET thesaurus. The 2001 edition of GEMET now encompasses 19 languages, including Russian, and is available on CD or on-line from the web-site of the EEA (ETC/CDS).
Translation of GEMET terms and definitions into Russian was carried out within the scope of ICSTI commitments under the Memorandum of Understanding with UNEP for 2000/01.
