ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION RESOURCES
The following environmental information resources are available from ICSTI Web site:
- Metadata base “Quality of Human Habitat: Atmosphere, Water, Soil and Dwelling”,
- Ecological Databases of the State Public Scientific and Technical Library (GPNTB) of Russia:
a) Electronic Catalogue of the GPNTB of Russia;
b) Database "Ecology of Russia" (from library holdings);
c) Database "Ecology of Russian Regions";
d) Analytical Database of Periodical Publications Related to Ecology;
- Roshydromet FEERC Database "Radiation Situation and Radioactive Contamination of Atmosphere on the Territory of Russia".
The metadata base “Quality of Human Habitat” contains data about Armenian, Byelorussian, Georgian, Kazakh, Kirghizian, Moldavian, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese organizations disposing of information, engineering, or technical resources in the field monitoring and improvement of human environment. Organization’s resource descriptions, as well as information on services rendered by organizations, are available via the database.
Ecological databases of the GPNTB of Russia are maintained within the framework of the project “Environmental Library Network of Russia”.
The database "Radiation Situation and Radioactive Contamination of Atmosphere on the Territory of Russia" is generated by the Federal Environmental Emergency Response Center (FEERC) of the Russian Federal Service on Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet). It covers the measurement data on exposure doses of gamma radiation, aerosol concentrations and fallouts on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Automated text translator also included in the software is a user-friendly element of the system.
Provision of access to the above databases and document collections is contracted with ICSTI agreements with database owners.
ICSTI serves as a billing center for using the above environmental information resources within the framework of a single contract.
