A training seminar for the access to MSI Eureka database on properties of inorganic materials was held at the ICSTI headquarters on December 11, 2009. Seminar was organized by the ICSTI jointly with the SWETS Company (Netherlands) and Materials Science International (MSI) publishing house (Germany). Head of a seminar – Dr. Gunter Effenberg, MSI managing director.

MSI Eureka database is one of priority resources offered to the participants of the International Consortium “ICSTI Resource Network”. It contains data on properties of more 45.000 binary and ternary systems of inorganic materials (alloys, ceramic materials, semiconductors, composites and others), including the high-quality evaluated phase diagrams and over 240.000 bibliographic references on data sources.
Seminar program included:
- overview of the content and search features in MSI Eureka database,
- online practical training studies.

20 specialists from 12 leading Russian research organizations in the field of materials science, crystallography and chemical thermodynamics took a part in the seminar. Among the participants were Institute of Structural Macrokinetics and Materials Science of the RAS, A.A. Bochvar All-Russian Research Institute of Inorganic Materials, D.I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical and Technological University, All-Russian Institute of Light Alloys, Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, National Research Nuclear University “MIFI”, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow Academy of Fine Chemical Technologies, Institute of Experimental Mineralogy of the RAS.
